TV3 LIVE: Wanita Hari Ini - Foot Pain Conditions and High Heels

A live talkshow conducted in Bahasa Melayu, we discussed together with Orthotist Lecturer from University Malaya on how common foot problems and how high heels may worsen the condition of our feet.

Alongside with endocrinologist Dr. Siti Harnida and dietitian Ms Saw Bee Huan, this podcast provides an overview of prevention and treatment for diabetes. 

 

Dr Shuang also provided informations on how diabetic foot requires special care to prevent amputation. 

Awareness Talk: Introduction to Podiatry and Paediatric Podiatry

The awareness talk provided an introduction to podiatry and feet care and an extra piece of information given to teachers and parents on picking up the abnormal feet on children that should be treated early.

High heels is an interesting topic that all women would want an insight on! 

 

Dr Shuang and Dr Chua Yeok Pin discussed about the effects of high heels on our feet and how to reduce the side effects caused by high heels.

 

Dr Shuang also gave a detailed explanation about prescription orthotics and a general overview of how podiatrists are able to help you with feet pain. 

Medical Symposium: Primary Care Medicine

Cordially invited by BBraun Malaysia as one of the key speakers for Primary Care Medicine Symposium 2015 

 

It was a successful introduction to the medical doctors on details of podiatry care and our equipments used. An eye opening talk introducing different types of shoes and how they fit into different groups of patients. Other main topics covered are such as detailed explanation of prescription orthotics and how it works, and assessments done by podiatrists in diabetic foot ulcer prevention. 

 

 

Newspaper Interview: TheStar 2014

In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, the article explained the importance of taking care of our feet, especially on diabetic patients. Regular checkups are necessary to avoid ulcers and amputations. 

 

Signs and symptoms of peripheral neuropathy, which means the complete damage of nerve were given and tips to protect the feet were provided.
